Position Highlights The Controlled Environment Agriculture Center (CEAC) and Department of Biosystems Engineering (BE) are currently seeking a reliable and talented Program Coordinator for Administration & Marketing.

This full-time position is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing programs and activities for CEAC & BE. In addition, this position will carry out operational duties such as enhancing the marketing and branding, and advertising of the CEAC & BE programs with emphasis on controlled environment agriculture.

The incumbent of this position will collaborate and coordinate with the Administrative Associate for the BE department head, Biosystems Engineering program coordinators and advisors, as well as other academic units with controlled environment agriculture programs within the College of Agriculture, Life, and Environmental Sciences. This position requires the ability to manage long-term deliverables; attention to detail; strong writing, editing, and organizational skills; a strong customer service orientation; ability to work with diverse teams; and the ability to work proactively and jointly with the BE Administrative Associate.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for the Director of CEAC and, as priorities permit, CEAC faculty.
  • Work closely with and take direction for work priorities from the Director of CEAC consistent with CALS and unit goals, programs, and plans.
  • Work closely with CEAC Director for marketing and branding activities to enhance the websites, social media presence and communication for BE & CEAC alumni, stakeholder, student recruitment, and other relations.
  • Work proactively and jointly with the BE Administrative Associate and Sustainable Plant systems Program
  • Coordinator/Academic Advisor.
  • Help with communications with CEAC' Board of Advisors.
  • Coordinate planning, organizing, and related processes of CEAC's intensive workshops and annual engineering and crop production short courses, and help with other relevant educational and technical meeting and conference organizations.
  • Supervise and train student workers in front office operations to ensure smooth appointment scheduling and quality customer service.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service in responding to in-person, phone, and email inquiries.
  • When student workers are on duty, they serve as a second layer of support service for customer service response.
  • Coordinate production and mailing of communication material, including online, print, and other media, for all CEAC activities, programs, and projects, as assigned.
  • Coordinate and maintain CEAC mailing lists, newsletters, online sites, and social media, as necessary.
  • Coordinate and prepare special reports for management, as assigned.
  • Assist with the generation of grant reports, monitor the collection and storage of data, and develop processes to improve the accuracy and efficiency of data collection and reporting.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with selected outside vendors for all operations of the CEAC, and as assigned.
  • Serve as a liaison between academic units with controlled environment agriculture programs for procedural and process activities.
  • Generate surveys on post-graduate employment data and create appropriate reports for administration.
  • Drive to main campus as needed to collaborate with BE programs/staff
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Controlled Environment Agriculture Programs within College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CALS) and related professional print, blog, online, and social media publications and resources.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with university communities (i.e., student workers, prospective students, administrators, staff, and faculty).
  • Ability to organize and maintain general correspondence, media development, event, and other distribution and activity address lists, and to use same effectively.
  • Ability to use good marketing knowledge and practice in the advancement of assigned goals, programs, and plans, and to apply these appropriately.
  • Ability and experience in organizing and implementing conferences and workshops.
  • Organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to write, edit, coordinate, and maintain online, print, and social media publications.
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive in a team-based environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required and a minimum of 1-year relevant work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of marketing, media, and/or program recruitment experience.
  • Two years of experience successfully handling each of the following: Specialized recruitment, volunteer coordination, and social media.
  • Experience with Uaccess and with University and CALS processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Previous experience working with effective marketing and communication practices, webpage development, and management.
