Position Overview

Georgia State University's Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist, Intermediate, to join our vibrant and growing team. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Manager of Desktop Support, this intermediate-level position involves installing, uninstalling, upgrading, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of audio-visual, networking, computer hardware, software, and mobile devices

Key Responsibilities:



  1. Technical Support and Maintenance:




    • Install, uninstall, upgrade, operate, troubleshoot, and repair audio-visual equipment, networking equipment, computer hardware and software, and mobile devices.





    • Provide technical support and training services to customers.





    • Utilize the incident response system to track, document, and record steps taken to resolve issues.




  1. Collaboration:




    • Collaborate with other technical professionals as needed for troubleshooting.
    • May be asked to train less experienced employees.




  1. Administrative Duties:




    • Perform time reporting, documentation, and other administrative duties.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:



  • Preferred Certification(s): A+, Apple+, Net+, ITIL
  • Working knowledge of various audio-visual equipment, computer hardware, networking equipment, and computer software systems.
  • Effective time management, customer service, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and exercise independent judgment.
  • Employees will need to move or transport items weighing up to 50 pounds for various needs.
