Technical Support Assistant

Perform the day to day operations management and administration (hardware/software/appliance) to protect the integrity confidentiality and availability of information assets and information technology infrastructures of Lake Land College including but not limited to: firewalls; IDS/IPS; NAC; event log analysis; patch management; anti-virus; perform threat/vulnerability/risk assessments; manage/perform security audits.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Monitor and resolve trouble ticket issues for the entire institution in a professional and timely manner. Report all unsolvable issues to supervisor.
2. Regularly review computer labs to test and maintain hardware and software functionality.
3. Assist students and staff with software and hardware questions and issues.
4. Install computers and software and assist with the installation of network equipment and accessories.
5. Install/reinstall hardware and software as required.
6. Create/Maintain scripts/applications as needed.
7. Install computers and printers on the network.
8. Analyze current issues to find alternatives to improve performance and function of technology.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

• Associate's Degree or equivalent required. Related coursework in the field preferred.

Personal computers, client operating systems, and common application software. Virtualization technologies and management tools associated with them.

Current versions of client operating systems, application software, computers, printers, basic network functions, knowledge of registry manipulation required, and virtualization experience preferred.

Ability to work with a variety of software packages and with different hardware configurations. Good debugging and analytic skills required.

Ability to work with others, good communication skills, and problem solving ability with a professional attitude.
