Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Small Arms Planner and Scheduler, supporting the EBW Program, Warner Robins AFB, GA.



Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Accomplish pre-planning of guns systems or exchangeable end items prior to scheduled depot repair
  • Develop and revise standards including labor and material, equipment, facility, and skill requirements in support of workload
  • Utilize one or more techniques such as methods time measurement, time studies, work sampling and estimates in developing/maintaining labor standards
  • Determine the impact of proposed workload changes on work packages; maintain Bill of Material based on Small Arms Program Office (SAPO) and/or USAF Gunsmith Shop (GSS) identified material requirements; and develop Bill of Work, work control documents, and requests for quote as required
  • Ensure financial soundness for areas of responsibility, if applicable, and immediately reports any discovered discrepancies to the supervisor
  • Perform duties to meet depot productivity goals and ensures adherence to good maintenance and schedule requirements
  • Responsible for development, implementation, analysis, and revision of the master production schedule for small arms and light weapons depot production throughputs
  • Ensure the integration and synchronization of all production schedules, both current and out year, for all weapons assigned to the SAPO
  • Recommend commitment of SAPO and GSS resources to effect the master schedule events and actions based on analysis performed, information received and coordinates with appropriate personnel.
  • Implement and control the master schedule, to include evaluating lead-time changes, assessing unanticipated material/production problems and their impact on existing schedules, controlling priorities and meeting critical milestones
  • Monitor small arms and light weapons depot production schedules on the basis of production line or shop capability, status of work in progress, duration required in specific and/or critical flow phases,
    availability of material, manpower and shop routed items, and the associated urgency of need
  • Determine the impact of actual or proposed changes and revise the master production schedule accordingly. The Contractor shall assess the need for cannibalization action in terms of parts complexity involved and the impact to the flow process of the weapon
  • Monitor time compliance TO actions and un-programmed work requirements to minimize negative impact to product flow and scheduled delivery dates
  • Recommend needed production schedule changes to management to ensure the critical flow time frames are maintained
  • Research of historical data for issues of productivity, quality, capability, functions and work processes, and the use of manpower to determine whether substantial modification is required to improve the efficiency of the entire production plan
  • Prepare reports and provide briefings on research findings to all levels of involved management, contractors, program managers, and external audit agencies
  • Assist the overall SAPO/GSS scheduling effort through monitoring of the information contained in applicable maintenance, production, and supply data systems
  • Suggest new/modified data products/systems applications to enhance the scheduling effort


Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Secret

Education & Years of Experience: BA/BS degree, ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 3 years of which must be in the DoD OR: High school diploma/GED and fifteen (15) years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, 5 years of which must be in the DoD
