Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job.

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Compliance Tech performs a variety of audits to evaluate regulatory compliance, workflows, policies and procedure adherence, monitoring of environmental, and facilities indicators. Assists with inventory management and compliance with sterile compounding regulations in accordance with state and federal laws.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Employees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including but not limited to sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

* Performs audits for compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures, Board of Pharmacy laws and regulations and other regulatory agencies.
* Performs audits to complete visual inspection of sterile compounding rooms for environmental and facility spaces to ensure physical integrity.
* Performs audits for post process improvement implementation for effectiveness or compliance.
* Assist with inventory management by completing audits to ensure proper storage and security and monitoring expiration dates.
* Assists with the management of medication inventory and supplies related to drug shortages, new products or product changes.
* Assists management with required documentation logs in all pharmacy areas, including printing of logs for each pharmacy, replacing logs and returning for review and filing.
* Assists with preparing and distributes information for new processes to pharmacy areas.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

* Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
* Experience: Six (6) months of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

License/Certification:
  • Registered Pharmacist by California Board of Pharmacy
OR
  • Intern Pharmacist by California Board of Pharmacy
OR
  • Pharmacy Technician by California Board of Pharmacy
KNOWLEDGE

* Knowledge of Medical terminology and abbreviations.
* Knowledge of methods and procedures involved in proper handling and storing of pharmaceutical supplies.

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $39.28 to $44.07
