Participate in implementation of corporate tourism initiatives while maintaining a welcoming and comfortable shopping experience for visitors from around the world.

Essential Functions:




  • Be aware of the local travel & leisure community
  • Participate in marquee programs that elevate Bloomingdale's to be 'Like No Other Store in the World' in the mind of the traveling consumer
  • Elevate Bloomingdale's brand awareness in the travel & leisure space
  • Be at the ready to respond to tourism traffic with a customer first attitude
  • Be knowledgeable of Visitor packages with hotels, convention, incentive and group travelers and tourism initiatives
  • Be familiar with key in-store collateral that addresses needs (i.e. language or special services) of specific travel corridors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local hotel concierges
  • Assist in maintaining individual hotel profiles, including monthly visitors and sales results, collateral distribution, hotel contact information and projections
  • Work with in-store key stakeholders (Public Relations, Personal Shopping, Visual, Restaurants, Store Ops) to execute specialized services to international customers inclusive of: shopping tours, language assistance, group events
  • Participate in unique tourism experiences: group events, tours, breakfast fashion shows
  • Maintain visible presence at all times in tourism center
  • Understand how tourism efforts are linked to store metric delivery of sales and service
  • Understand the need for return on investment for any tourism initiatives
  • Monitor inventory levels of department collateral
  • Be aware of monthly city tourism statistics/projections/trends
  • Communicate with store family tourism initiatives
  • Adhere to Procedure/Standards for Tourism Center
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is consistently provided to all visitors
  • Attend in-store training and stay current on Procedure Alerts, Program Fact Sheets and monthly calendar of events
  • Deliver the highest level of customer service to all visitors
  • Learn about International Marketing programs, store policies and events, local attractions and promotions
  • Be an expert on Tourism Program and share with fellow associates
  • Contribute to creation of Concierge newsletter
  • Learn top visitation countries and domestic cities and use this knowledge to elevate service



Qualifications and Competencies:




  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years related experience.
  • Able to easily engage in conversation.
  • Social ease and quick response to customer needs and inquiries.
  • Able to maintain composure in difficult situations.
  • Detailed oriented about product knowledge .
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, peers and management.
  • Basic math functions to operate register, handle money and make change.
  • Able to use a calculator.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a learning environment.
  • Ability to sell and build a sale through conversational interaction.
  • Enjoys meeting and interacting with customers; demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities and learn new procedures.



Physical Requirements:




  • Constant moving and standing.
  • Able to lift 10 lbs.
  • Able to reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders.
  • Able to use and navigate multiple technological devices
