General Summary: To perform fusion welding using TIG welding equipment and processes to produce aerospace components. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Sets up and welds metal aerospace components according to specifications, applying knowledge of welding techniques. Cleans and assembles components and selects holding or clamping fixture according to size and type of work piece. Monitors power supply and welding gas systems. Reviews specifications to determine equipment settings, applying knowledge of TIG welding and metal characteristics. Adjusts welding gas, current setting and adjusts high voltage settings. Adjusts current to attain proper weld penetration and fusion of metal components. Visually inspects work piece for depth of weld penetration, width of joining, holes, and inclusions. Cleans weld equipment, fixtures, using hand tools. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
