Position Purpose |
The Exhibits and Graphic Arts Designer supports the Dartmouth Libraries' exhibits program by designing and installing exhibits in Baker-Berry Library that feature collections and resources related to the intellectual work of the Dartmouth community. The designer collaborates with exhibit curators and library colleagues to produce physical and online exhibits. The designer crafts visual elements that enhance exhibit content and effect while ensuring consistency across all visual designs to maintain the Libraries' visual identity. The designer also prepares marketing and promotional materials, tailoring visuals for digital platforms, print, and multimedia projects. (part-time, 20 hours per week)
This position is Hybrid work location eligible. |

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities |
* Two years of graphic design experience creating print and digital products.
* Knowledge of and proficiency in a range of design and publishing software, such as Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Creative Suite.
* Ability to plan and mount exhibits that display library and information materials in various formats that are effective, visually engaging, and attractive
* Demonstrated writing skills
* Demonstrated ability to design and layout printed documentation
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work collegially in small group and team environments
* Flexibility and the ability to work independently on different projects
* Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
* Ability to climb ladders, lift materials overhead, and move or lift up to 30 lbs.
