Inventory Management Specialist

• Oversee consumables, chemicals, samples, and accurate inventory control, including on- and off-site movement and customer metric reporting.
• Monitor slow-moving/dead inventory, conduct cycle counts, physical inventories, and prepare related reports.
• Provide daily customer support and maintain effective communication related to inventory management.
• Handle backorders, expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, quotes, document control, and resolve pricing/invoice issues.
• Manage order entry, reporting, metrics maintenance, and cost savings tracking.
• Organize customer shipments, operate warehouse equipment, enter shipping info, and inspect equipment.
• Prepare proper shipping documentation and packaging for hazardous materials.
• Interface with customer contacts, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers.
• Use SAP, Citrix, Intranet, and other customer-specific inventory management systems.
• Maintain safety, performance, and quality standards, update SOPs, document change management, and support service efficiency programs.

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience in material handling, inventory replenishment, or customer service.
• Training or certification in spill containment, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and OSHA Right to Know is a plus.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience in shipping, inventory, or purchasing.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional, can-do attitude and a high regard for safety, quality, and adherence to protocols.
• Ability to self-manage, stay motivated, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines; knowledge of scientific products and services is a plus.
