Builders FirstSource (BFS) is embarking on a multi-year business transformation that will enable us to outperform our competition and enable industry transformation. In connection with this initiative, BFS will harmonize our core operations on SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud. To support this transformation, We are seeking a highly skilled SAP platform lead to join our dynamic team who has experience with SAP Basis, BTP administration.

ROLE SPECIFIC - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Leads the collaborative development of an application strategy that matches IT's stated goals and technology strategy and application roadmap(s) that supports BFS's needs.
  • Leads projects from requirements to completion.
  • Identifies service delivery gaps and implements plans to improve outcomes.
  • Serves as point of contact or subject matter expert for the business on complex systems and coordinates work across teams.
  • Maintains an understanding the business' needs, system functionality and processes to align IT strategy with areas of growth and potential cost savings.
  • Creates the balance of the technical investment and the adoption/ reuse of the existing systems and tooling within team(s).
  • Evaluates technical feasibility, design and security optimization, production issues and ensures technical quality throughout the development process.
  • Identifies new technologies, industry trends and best practices to be incorporated into IT policies and roadmap.
  • Maintains long-term relationships with vendors and other third-party resources to ensure high quality services are delivered consistently.
  • Serves as the point person for interaction with multi-functional teams to eliminate blockers, hold technical discussions and solve immediate problems.
  • Provides expert leadership and training to system administrators on new technologies or modifications and their impact on current applications



SAP TECHNICAL PLATFORM DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • SAP BASIS Administration: Manage and maintain SAP systems, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • SAP BTP Management: Administer and support SAP BTP services, ensuring seamless integration and operation of cloud applications.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance, perform regular maintenance, and apply patches and upgrades, as necessary.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support for SAP applications, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect SAP systems and data.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, developers, and business users to support SAP projects and initiatives.
  • Documentation Management: Govern and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • SAP applications in scope: SAP BTP, SAP CALM,SAP S4Hana,ARIBA,IBP,SAC,SAP Identity Authentication Service (IAS) and Identity Provisioning Service (IPS) ,GRC - Governance, Risk, Compliance ,SAP BI (BO, BODS),SAP SLT,Solution Manager



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to supervising assigned team members (in-person and remote); talent selection and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance management, including conducting performance reviews; recognizing team members; addressing and resolving concerns timely, escalate for help when necessary.

This role will be responsible for managing the SAP platform teams from project implementation partners and application maintenance support teams belonging to external suppliers, working with them in close collaboration.

Review and govern release plans for project implementation and continuous improvement cycles.

Govern runbooks and system operation procedures for SAP applications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • 10+ years relevant work experience in managing SAP platforms
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Provides in-depth expertise in technical and operational support of multiple components of SAP systems and in integration with OS, DB, server, network layers, and interfaces with third-party products.
  • As a senior technical SAP Basis professional, partners and provides coaching for our SI partners SAP Basis Administration team.
  • Maintenance of HANA Database via Studio and HANA Cockpit, troubleshooting of performance issues by checking log files.
  • Coordination with SAP RISE team for system patching and maintenance activities
  • Supports integration of SAP Systems with other business systems like SuccessFactors, Datasphere, ARIBA, SAP IBP, SAP CI/DS, SAP SLT & other systems
  • Administration of SAP BTP platform including enablement of services and constant monitoring of service utilization
  • Governs Solution Manager, Cloud ALM, CCMS and other tools including SAP Early Watch Alerts
  • Defines, creates, reviews, updates, and maintains standard-operational-procedure documentation relating to SAP application support and processes.
  • Performs SAP software application installation, configuration, integration, upgrade, enhancement-pack deployment, support pack and kernel patch updates
  • Plans regular reviews of system sizing (capacity planning), disk / storage / server layout
  • Completes performance monitoring of the SAP system landscape including work process monitoring, job terminations & system dumps.
  • Experience with SAP cloud platform (SCP) Integration, Cloud Connector, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
  • Install, configure, manage and administration of SQL Server databases
  • Configure and manage SAP transport management system including deployment of transports
  • Administration of SSL certificates across the landscape
  • Administration of BODS, DB creation, Access management, integrate the repositories and job management
  • Administration of Fiori applications, experience with Activation of ODATA services, cache administration and Fiori based Application Deployment
  • Experience in Performing SAP client copy: export and import as required
  • Experience with SOX and ITIL process
  • Strong technical knowledge in backup and recovery strategies, system refreshes, high availability, and disaster recovery scenarios
  • Work in collaboration with system integrator teams and maintenance service provider teams in supervisor capacity to plan project platform strategies for different test cycles.

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company's active bonus policy for the respective year.
