For more information about the company and product line visit: www.sigsauer.com Position Summary: Position includes supervision of manufacturing operators and technicians engaged in daily operations and long-term manufacturing metrics. This role will work directly with production teams to provide training, leadership, direction, correction, optimization of daily work orders, and improvements. FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervising employees and managing tasks assigned to them.
- Maintenance of management required for continuous improvement, performance standards, efficiencies and utilization metrics for achieving company objectives.
- Ability to perform all Department Supervisor position requirements.
- Responsible for Production Components Manufacturing of Assembly, including supervision of associates. Includes production support, data collection and analysis, workplace 5s and safety, and personnel standard work evaluation and development.
- Supervise Production Components Manufacturing of Assembly, and associates performing the builds of firearms, including assuring staff compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws, most importantly regarding safety, quality, and function.
- Serve as the point of contact for the Management Team, including assistance in preparation of budgets, with a focus on staffing, meeting all customers' demands; along with assembly, and production rates/standards/methods.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and assuring compliance with safety, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) with 5s requirements.
- Assure all documentation for the area is up-to-date, relevant and available to personnel at points of use, and that personnel are trained to requirements
- Transactions of activities are proper and timely, including Oracle and Agile.
- Lead 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the assembly facilities in good working order through sustainment activities, including requests for maintenance assistance for projects beyond the capability of personnel. Be able to have flexibility to assist the department manager on being a point of contact on other shifts.
Education/Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years Supervisory experience working in a packing, shipping, or manufacturing capacity is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of inventory control systems.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment where priorities are shifting regularly.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal teams and external parties.
- Good communication Skills.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Experience in handling multiple simultaneous tasks and requirements.
- Experience with Oracle is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
- Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
- Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
- The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking, and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
- Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the assembly, machining, or testing of parts.
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
- Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
