Director of Nursing (residential setting)

The Director of Nursing provides leadership and direction for all services provided by the Nursing Department. As a member of senior management, this position ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and services consistent with the facility's goals and objectives.

Midwest Center for Youth and Families (a subsidiary of UHS) has been in operation since 1997, serving youth across the country that are in need of psychiatric treatment for variety of mental health issues. The Midwest Center is a respected healthcare provider, fully accredited, 74-bed private, residential treatment facility with locations in Valparaiso and Kouts, IN.

We are dedicated to care of the hearts and minds of our patients with compassion and superior quality behavioral healthcare services through our full-immersion Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for children and adolescents ages 10 - 18 who struggle with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges.

The Patriot Support Program at Midwest Center offers specialized treatment designed to address the behavioral health needs and challenges of the children of active-duty military, reserve, and national guard members.

Education:

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school is required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school is preferred.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements:

1. Current license to practice nursing in the State of Indiana.

2. Minimum of five years work experience in a behavioral health field required.

3. Must be 21 years old

4. Two years of supervisory experience required.
