Intern - Industrial Engineering Location: Pascagoula, MS Position Overview: The Industrial Engineering Intern will assist in applying industrial engineering techniques and principles within a shipbuilding environment. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in process optimization, efficiency analysis, and workflow improvement while supporting various departments. Qualifications: * Currently enrolled in a college program pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering. * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to interact effectively with company personnel across different departments. * Good time management, organizational, and critical thinking skills. * Knowledge of office procedures and equipment. Key Responsibilities: * Assist in planning facility, equipment, material, and personnel utilization to improve operational efficiency. * Support the design of management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost analysis. * Recommend process improvements to enhance worker efficiency and reduce material and utility waste, such as:
* Study business process flow and sequence of operations to identify optimization opportunities. * Assist in developing work measurement programs and labor utilization standards through work sample analysis. * Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data, including:
* Maintain routine records and manage databases, ensuring accurate data input and reporting. * Assist in preparing reports, research materials, and presentations. * Shadow multiple office positions and gain experience in a variety of tasks related to industrial engineering and operations. * Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, environmental policies, and quality system principles. * Perform other duties as assigned by management.
