Job Description Summary

Serves as the Office of the University Registrar initial point of contact. Demonstrates initiative by analyzing the administration and effectiveness of information disseminated to students, faculty and academic administrators. May provide administrative support to areas in the OUR including registration, records, transfer, scheduling, and degree audit at the discretion of the Office Manager.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Represents the Office of the University Registrar to internal and external constituents; provides information, solves problems, offers solutions, and gives guidance as the first point of contact for all office inquiries; responsible for serving as the "one-stop center" and providing accurate information and solving day-to-day problems for customers.
  • Provides front line support for students, faculty, staff, and families interacting with the Office of the University Registrar through in-person interactions, phone conversations, and e-mail communication.
  • Identifies areas of concern and helps find the appropriate solutions.
  • Draft and send departmental communications on behalf of the Office of the University Registrar.
  • Utilizes all available resources to assist students and staff (i.e. the student handbook, Bulletin, knowledge bases, internal systems, and collaboration with peers/management).
  • Maintains and updates students' academic record as requested.
  • Assist Office Manager with various projects as assigned.
  • Works as team member by serving as a generalist to ensure projects and processes are completed in a timely manner on behalf of the office. Identifies areas of need and offers collaborative assistance in completing office goals by required deadlines (e.g. providing transcript and verification services, assisting departments with detailed registration needs, assisting students with requesting program of study changes).
  • Assists students with granting proxy access to academic records and managing their privacy settings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 0-2 years' experience in an academic environment.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and worked in an office environment as part of a team.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills such as active listening and problem solving.
  • Drive and dedication to provide a superior service experience to every constituent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
