Responsibilities

We are hiring a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Workstation Administrator for our program at US STRATCOM in Bellevue, Nebraska.

What you'll do:

    Troubleshoot issues on ESXi
  • Perform Horizon change control and patch management
  • Open and manage support requests with Omnissa when required
  • Utilize PowerShell for task automation
  • Provide documentation of successful issue resolution, troubleshooting, and procedure implementation daily
  • Provide information technology (IT) support to install, configure and administer the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) on the USSTRATCOM NIPRNet, C2LAN (SIPRNet), and TS Collateral networks.
  • The administrator will be responsible for maintaining, and upgrade operating systems, firmware and applications for the virtualized hosts and guest operating systems.
  • Additional responsibilities include verifying that the virtual environment has followed the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) by policy and software updates.
  • Provide customers and internal support staff increased efficiency, leading to a more stable, available environment and monitor enterprise environments using automated tools.
  • Update, troubleshoot and maintain Persona Management
  • Maintain enterprise images to meet security and monthly patch requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate the virtual environment utilizing tools such as vRealize Operations Manager
  • Package and provision software for the virtual desktops (App Stack)
  • Configure Security Groups in Active Directory to link users to software application
  • Comply with relevant information security policies and processes while deploying new hardware and software installations
  • Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work and multitask
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems
  • Good communication skills to communicate with support personnel, customers, and managers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Travel as required to perform tasks to include, but not limited to, hardware configuration, software installation and configuration, and security accreditation procedures on hardware components
  • In addition to position-specific duties, candidate should also be able to perform basic duties of other billets in Line of Service
  • Automated deployment of Microsoft Windows Operating System patches
  • Monitor and tune appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance
  • Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current
  • Oversee the maintenance of a history of system-supporting process and procedure documentation
  • Interact with client management to answer questions, problems and requests regarding deployments and issues
  • Maintain documentation that supports security standards and processes
  • Configure and maintain System Center Configuration Manager
  • Provide limited after-hours support for emergency scenarios
  • Execution of daily work to be in compliance with DoD Information Assurance standards and practices
  • Report patching/security compliance of domain-connected assets
  • Perform Virtual Desktop Infrastructure configuration/maintenance and Application Virtualization
  • Provide tier 3 support to Contract and Government Organizations
  • Create and maintain Group Policy Objects for client machines (user and computer policies)
  • Use a ticketing system (Remedy/ServiceNow) to track work
  • Diagnose problems and escalate unresolved issues or problems - may provide alternative courses of action
  • Work with less experienced technical and non-technical personnel on both routine and complex incidents
  • Perform system monitoring and analysis, troubleshooting system hardware, software, and operating system issues
  • Research and recommend automated approaches for system administration tasks where possible
  • Create and maintain work instructions and train junior staff as necessary
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently for on-time delivery
  • Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical clients
  • Document problem resolutions completely and accurately
  • Accurately and effectively analyze alerts/logs and take appropriate actions during troubleshooting
  • Be familiar with the DISA STIG requirements for Windows-based workstations
  • Be familiar with DoD Information Assurance Concepts/Process
  • Use a scripting language (Powershell, vbscript, etc) efficiently


Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • 2 years with Bachelor's degree or 6 years of relevant work/military experience in lieu of a degree will be acceptable
  • Experience With Virtual machines.
  • Experience in Windows troubleshooting.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Operational experience or a working understanding of using Horizon console.
  • Experience with ACAS remediation reports.
  • Strong technical writing skills or technical documentation understanding.

Required Certifications:

  • Must obtain/maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II is required (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) Certification within 120 Days of hire.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
