Network Administrator

Are you a skilled Network Administrator eager to work on mission-critical, cutting-edge infrastructure? NS2 Mission is seeking a Network Administrator to join our team in Chantilly, VA (HQ) and play a key role in designing, securing, and optimizing high-availability networks. In this fast-paced environment, you'll lead efforts in advanced routing, switching, firewalls, and security compliance, ensuring top-tier performance and reliability.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level network design, infrastructure support, change management, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Plan and maintain software upgrades and patches for firewalls, switches, and routers.
  • Maintain, evaluate, test, and apply Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) configurations for network devices.
  • Monitor and respond to security findings and events across the network infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and security procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, executive stakeholders, and customers, ensuring clear technical guidance and recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph and CompTIA Security+ certification (must maintain DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher throughout employment).
  • Experience:
    • 12+ years of related experience (without a degree), OR
    • 8+ years with a bachelor's degree
  • Strong professional knowledge of routing, switching, and firewall concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP).
  • Experience with industry-standard network hardware platforms, operating systems, and high-availability (HA) network infrastructures.
  • Proficiency in network traffic analysis, including packet capture techniques and tool placement for traffic flow assessment.
  • Hands-on experience with network testing, configuration development, and implementation on critical networks.
  • Experience in network device hardening, STIG compliance, and security tools such as Nessus and Splunk.
  • Ability to update and maintain network diagrams using Visio or similar tools.
  • Self-motivated learner, adaptable to dynamic environments, with the ability to provide strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional security certifications such as DoD 8570 IAT Level II/III.
  • Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE).
  • Expertise with Cisco Catalyst and ASA series platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining high-availability, fault-tolerant network environments.
  • Prior experience working with classified networks.

Position Clearance Requirement:

TS/SCI with CI Poly
