Key Job Responsibilities: #LI-SO1
  • Advise internal clients on the full range of employment and labor law issues, including hiring, leave and accommodation, discipline, termination, wage and hour compliance, and compliance.
  • Manage labor and employment claims, arbitrations, and litigation including oversight and management of outside counsel
  • Review and provide guidance on drafting, developing, and enforcement of employment and HR-related policies and procedures
  • Counsel Human Relations, Labor, and all levels of operations management on handling employee relations matters, including employee discipline and investigations
  • Review and respond to pre-litigation employment and labor claims
  • Draft and review employment documents including severance agreements, retention agreements, offer letters, and repayment agreements
  • Serve as subject matter expert for OFCCP audits, WARN, and state paid leave laws.
  • Proactively identify and assess legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area and advise the business accordingly
  • Prepare and present training on employment and labor issues
  • Identify and implement internal processes to increase efficiency using technology and otherwise.

  • The ability to develop, lead, and influence cross-functional teams to complete projects and achieve specific goals and tactics
  • Excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Some travel required.

Education and Work History:
  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 3 to 6 years relevant experience practicing employment and labor law including experience working on unfair labor practice charges, arbitrations, union negotiations, charges of discrimination, wage and hour claims, and leave policies.
  • Immigration law experience is a plus
  • Experience representing clients in matters involving employment and labor statutes enforced by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Experience proactively developing and implementing preventative employment and labor strategies
  • Admitted to practice and in good standing in at least one state.
