About the Job

The Center for Magnetic Resonance Research, within the Department of Radiology at the University of Minnesota, seeks a scientist to join a collaborative research program which exploits novel quantitative MRI and fMRI methods to understand and characterize brain energy metabolism and neurovascular coupling. The research will be conducted at the University's world-renowned Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR), in collaboration with colleagues from CMRR and other collaborating institutions.

Work Arrangement: The position is expected to work primarily on-site.

Responsibilities:
* Develop metabolic modeling tools for analyzing MRI and MRS data (40%)
* MRI data acquisition and processing in humans and animals (10%)
* Generation of quantitative parametric maps (10%)
* Critical analysis of data quality (5%)
* Data storage and organization in databases (5%)
* Summarizing results (5%)
* Preparing manuscript and presentations (10%)
* Interacting with other team members and collaborators (5%)
* Mentoring students (5%)
* Pursuing research and other scholarly activities (5%)
* Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
Required Qualifications:
* PhD in physics, chemistry, biomedical engineering, computer science, or similar fields
* Established experience in MRI technology, software programming, biochemistry, and metabolic modeling
* Established experience with common software for analyzing MRI data
* Track record of scientific publications

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in developing computation tools for metabolic modeling
* Experience in acquiring MRI and MRS data from human subjects
* Experience in analyzing quantitative parametric maps
*Experience in analyzing functional connectivity data
* Experience in analyzing MR spectroscopy data
* Experience in developing novel and efficient acquisition and processing pipelines
* Good communication skills
* Commitment to team science, and multi-departmental collaboration

About the Department

The research will be conducted at the University's world-renowned Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR, https://www.cmrr.umn.edu), in collaboration with colleagues from CMRR and/or other collaborative institutions.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $61,008 - $74,088; depending on education/qualifications/experience
