A Brief Overview

We are looking for a highly capable Lead Assistant - Underwriting Operations to join our team and work from our Rockwood office. This role is responsible to oversee and assist the Underwriting Assistants. The underwriting administrative services supervisor position is a mid-level position with managerial duties. This position includes a high level of contact with Rockwood agents and policyholders.

The role will work onsite (5 days per week) at our Rockwood, PA office.

Responsibilities:



  • Training, supervision mentoring and coaching underwriting assistants and support staff involved in underwriting functions.


  • Oversee the work product of the underwriting assistants.


  • Keep and maintain procedure manuals outlining the functions performed by the underwriting assistants.


  • Manage third party relationships and monitor performance


  • Support underwriters with new business to include the set-up of new business applications in Rockwood's policy admin system and ImageRight, indexing, logging, tracking, and documentation of the process.


  • Support underwriters with existing policies with various service-oriented tasks.


  • Process tasks related to applications, new business, and existing business in ImageRight.


  • Process, assemble, and review policies.


  • Directly interact with customers to provide requested information as assigned by management.


  • Manage Online Payroll Reporting system, from account set-up to final processing


  • Manage all general underwriting inbound calls as well as company main line.


  • Manage underwriting general email account.


  • Manage company forms library, including implementation and retirement of forms.


  • Complete projects as assigned by CUO


  • Manage and execute policyholder coverage notifications across the portfolio.


  • Manage all payroll reports, including delinquency monitoring, and cancellation processing.



Qualifications:



  • Supervisory experience, preferred


  • Strong oral and written communication skills


  • Detail oriented with initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment


  • Excellent analytical skills


  • Proficient in the use of computer programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook



WORKING CONDITIONS



  • 99% of the time this position is a general office environment.


  • 1% of the time may involve travel for business related function.
