Project Engineer

The Project Engineer performs a variety of increasingly complex and technical duties related to the facilities planning and construction program; Scope of services to include, but are not limited to:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Running design or construction meeting, conducting field checks, preparing written and photographic materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, guidelines, meeting minutes, and proposed board action requests.
• Person primarily responsible to maintain project files in both electronic and paper format.
• Functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to evaluate and ensure relation and compliance to project requirements.
• Obtain and maintain data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, contractors/subcontractors, or other project related entities.
• Design Team Coordination for conformance review and timely and accurate responses to request for informations, submittals, construction change documents, etc.
• Maintain document and project controls systems and procedures. Monitors, evaluates and ensures compliance with systems and procedures.
• Participate in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses.
• Makes field checks on construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration addition or repair projects to determine compliance with job specifications, plans, established College standards, and Division of the State Architect (DSA) requirements for multiple Campus Projects

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is required (Extensive relevant construction management experience in place of education may be considered)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Assistant Construction Manager is required
• Preferred experience with DSA / public projects in California
• Effective oral and written communication skills are required
• Knowledge of project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices is required
• Experience with large project ($50m+) experience preferred
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, Bluebeam, Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software and experience with project-related Construction Management systems are preferred
• CMIT (Construction Manager- in-Training) or EIT (Engineer-in-Training)

Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $110,000-$115,000.
