The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences consists of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Department of Clinical Pharmacy Practice. The unit offers B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, M.S. in Pharmacology, Ph.D. in Pharmacological Sciences, and Pharm.D.


Your Role on the Team

Applies skills as a recruitment and admissions professional. Provides substantive information on student programs for the school. Responds to PharmD admissions inquiries; exercises knowledge regarding UCI's PharmD Admissions requirements and PharmCAS application system. Assists with admissions events/activities, including interview days. Performs recruitment activities. Evaluates and makes determinations regarding applications for admission using established guidelines. Assists in recommending improvements / modifications to the program. Uses PharmD admissions' standard criteria to assess an applicants' overall record and experience for admissions recommendation.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations and other institutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with PharmD or other health professional academic programs.
  • Ability to work independently and take action to conduct short and long range planning.
  • At least 1 or more years of experience in recruitment, admissions, student services, or equivalent relevant experience

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of UC, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective applicants and the public.
  • Working knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs at UC.
  • Working knowledge of admissions requirements for campus / school / college.
  • Skills in judgment and decision-making; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
  • Experience using student tools such as Slate, Banner, etc.

Special Conditions:

  • Some regional travel (max 100 mile radius except on special occurrences) is required for recruitment efforts; occurs on average once per quarter
  • Schedule requires occasional evening / weekend work; occurs on average once per month
