I. JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a bright, enthusiastic, and results-oriented professional with solid legal technology experience to join us as Legal Technology Manager. To excel in this role, you will have the ability to foster relationships with staff across the legal department and the organization to achieve positive results. Successful candidates will have experience deploying digital technology to a legal practice area or a complementary function with transferable skills.

The Legal Technology Manager will be a driving force behind optimizing our Legal Operations through technology. The ideal candidate is passionate about the intersection of law and technology, always on the lookout for new ways to automate processes and improve productivity. You'll be a problem-solver, a creative thinker, and a tech enthusiast all rolled into one.

As a part of the Legal Operations team, the Legal Technology Manager will be responsible for working with various Legal stakeholders on projects that increase the Legal Department's efficiency. This role's focus will be on technology projects that drive digital transformation across Legal practice areas, from enhancing current systems, supporting system integrations, and developing business requirements and common processes for new system deployments.

Responsibilities will include:



  • Drive operational change and modernization through the design and implementation of processes and systems aimed at promoting the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal team
  • Collaborate on developing, implementing, and managing an array of legal technology projects to assist the in-house legal team in maximizing the value of the legal services provided to the company internally and procured externally, including reviewing/assessing potential new technology solutions, new system launches, system upgrades, and product enhancements
  • Find opportunities to develop and enhance Legal policies, processes, and standard work, share best practices, and develop playbooks and knowledge management systems to improve efficiency for the Legal team
  • Day-to-day eDiscovery tasks; and systemic improvement/development of associated eDiscovery processes and workflows
  • Managing complex projects within time and budgetary constraints
  • Act as the liaison with various stakeholders, including IT, as needed
  • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements and partner with Head of Legal Operations, IT, and external service providers to recommend practical, innovative solutions
  • Serve as a business system owner for systems and technology solutions owned by Legal Operations - and manage the vendor process end-to-end.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

Qualifications



  • 5-7 years working with Legal Technology with a law firm, vendor, or corporation
  • The ideal candidate has a passion for creating effective and scalable processes, driving technology adoption, spearheading change management initiatives, developing key metrics to drive cost-saving solutions, and nurturing and managing relationships,
  • Deep understanding and experience with a variety of technical systems and workflow automation tools utilized by in-house law departments, including matter management, contracts management, e-billing, financial reporting and patent program systems.
  • Hands-on experience with eDiscovery tools and processes is highly preferred, including collecting, searching, and exporting various data sets; experience with e-discovery within the Microsoft environment; and experience developing in-house eDiscovery systems
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to drive projects forward
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that include the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical staff
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite is a plus
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of technology trends
  • Eager to learn new things and apply knowledge to innovate, improve/simplify processes.

U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information

The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from [$117,500 to $142,100]. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stock options.]
