Your Role With Us: The Solution Center Operator I position at Salem Health operates the switchboard system in an efficient and professional manner.Core Functions:Call Management: Promptly answering incoming calls and using standard procedures to direct them to the appropriate location, department or individual; Handle multiple lines efficiently while maintaining composure and professional manner. Message Handling: Record and process all messages received for the answering services in accordance with approved procedures; Take accurate and detailed messages for all healthcare providers, including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and allied health professionals.Relay messages promptly and accurately via phone, email, or pager according to designated preferences; Prioritize urgent messages to ensure they are delivered promptly to the intended recipient(s)Activate emergency codes promptly and according to approved policies and procedures; Notify appropriate personnel, including medical staff, security, and emergency response teams, during critical situations. Maintain and update the on-call schedule for medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.Monitors all alarm systems in call center/switchboard and notifies appropriate person or response team according to approved policies and procedures.Engage in/lead Lean projects to improve process and eliminate waste in workflows.Remain calm and composed under pressure to ensure effective communication during emergencies; Prioritize code activation and follow-up according to patient safety in the case that there are two codes being called simultaneously. Good clerical, computer keyboarding, interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to function well under pressure; must have ability to hold information in confidence.
