THE JOB:

As the Supervisor Entertainment Technician at the Mass Mutual Center, you will play a crucial role in upholding the artistic standards of theatrical productions while leading a team to ensure smooth operations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing technical aspects, coordinating with production staff, and implementing departmental policies to enhance the overall experience for performers and audiences alike. THE STARTING RATE: $30.00 per hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Oversee the maintenance of all staging, scenery and rigging for the showroom
  • Communicate with theatre's Production Manager as well as other supervisors regarding show operations
  • Supervise the respective department in all areas, including but not limited to staffing, training, operations, maintenance, documentation, budgeting, purchasing
  • Perform personnel functions such as sign-in sheets, crew schedules, hiring new employees and maintain records and training in the Workday System
  • Ensure that all critical backup equipment and procedures are in place and checked daily
  • Develop and implement emergency policies and procedures specific to the respective department, and ensure the team is trained and familiar with these procedures
  • Adhere to all OSHA and other safety regulations as required
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all theatrical related systems and equipment to ensure its proper and safe usage as well as the necessary maintenance

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Knowledgeable in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining respective theatrical departmental gear and equipment
  • Skilled in Theatrical staging, carpentry and rigging
  • Knowledgeable of theatrical drawings and plots
  • Basic knowledge or Proficiency of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards
  • Has high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Has 3+ years of supervisory role overseeing theatrical carpentry, staging and rigging operations as well as maintenance or prior relevant experience
  • Can work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
