Summary: This position is responsible for leading the Safety program, acting as the Facility Security Officer (FSO), coordinating environmental records, overseeing the facility specific training program, leading emergency response planning and offering support for regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:



    Safety:



    • Serve as the site Safety Representative
    • Serve as Safety Officer for emergency response when the ICS is activated
    • Work with ET Safety Specialist to administer the company's safety processes and procedures
    • Conduct equipment and facility inspections
    • Conduct internal safety audits and reviews
    • Conduct injury and accident investigations
    • Arrange, conduct, and document safety training
    • Develop local safety goals, update and distribute goals spreadsheets
    • Conduct PMs as required (monthly, quarterly, and annually)
    • Facilitate the quarterly safety committee meetings
    • Maintain Safety records and files
    • Foster a positive safety culture encouraging participation and engagement of all employees with the safety process



    Security:



    • Serve as the site Facility Security Officer
    • Serve as Incident Commander for a security related incident when the ICS is activated
    • Work with ET Security Specialist to administer the company's security processes and procedures
    • Acquire necessary training credentials as the FSO
    • Liaison with USCG, AMSC, and neighboring facilities on all security matters and response
    • Document owner of the Facility Security Plan
    • Conduct investigations into security breaches and suspicious behaviors
    • Conduct PMs as required (monthly, quarterly, and annually)
    • Arrange and conduct security training
    • Conduct quarterly security drills and annual security exercises
    • Liaison between LCLNG and the contract security guard service on all security matters and response
    • Develop annual work offer for the contract security guard company and approve weekly timesheets
    • Maintain Security records and files



    Emergency Response:



    • Document owner of the Emergency Response Manual
    • Coordinate with local emergency planning groups on specifics of our plan
    • Conduct reviews and updates to the manual including communication with agencies on any changes to the plan
    • Liaison with local, state and federal agencies and neighboring facilities for emergency response
    • Coordinates emergency drills



    Environmental:



    • Serve as the site Environmental Coordinator
    • Work with ET Environmental Specialist to administer the company's environmental processes and procedures
    • Conduct weekly/monthly environmental inspections
    • Conduct PMs as required (monthly, quarterly, and annually)
    • Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to sample, dispose and track shipments of waste
    • Maintain Environmental records and files (waste, wastewater, emissions, etc.)



    Training:



    • Serve as the site Training Coordinator
    • Work with ET Training Specialist to administer the company's training processes and procedures
    • Document owner of the LCLNG Training Manual
    • Conduct PMs as required (monthly, quarterly, and annually)
    • Maintain Training records and files (LCLNG, ET, PHMSA, USCG)
    • Track training progress, update and distribute Training spreadsheets



    Regulatory:



    • Review any rulemaking plans for impact to our operation
    • Implement changes to procedures as required by regulatory changes
    • Liaison with regulatory officials related to any inspections and or reporting requirements for the facility



    Required Education:


    • Minimum High school diploma or GED
    • 6+ years of relevant work experience


    Required Qualifications:



    • Minimum of 6 years experience in industrial operations, safety, security or emergency response duties.
    • Experience with permit to work systems
    • Ability to interact with diverse groups
    • Strong communication skills including public speaking capability
    • Certification in occupational safety and/or security are a plus.
    • Understanding of regulatory compliance is a plus.

    1. Frequent exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions
    2. Working conditions may include confined spaces
    3. Repetitively standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching over shoulder height, and climbing ladders up to 25 feet. Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs with or without assistance
    4. Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and may require appropriate personal protective equipment
    5. Reliable attendance at work
    6. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
