Job Summary:

The Senior Information Security Officer is responsible for delivering Veritex's strategic business goals and initiatives for applicability to the Chief Security Office's mission, goals, and resources. This leader will oversee Veritex's information security operations program including processes, people, and tools. Develop short and long-term technology objectives to provide efficient and cost-effective technology tools. The Senior ISO will lead, manage, direct and coordinate the planning, production and activities of the Chief Security Office.

Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Develop, implement, and communicate information security, policies, standards, and procedures that support the bank's overall goals and strategic plans.
  • Oversee the effective management of the Information Security analyst team, including effective communication, development of employees, maintenance of existing systems, and completion of projects.
  • Periodically review Veritex's related policies and procedures, and draft proposed changes and/or additions as necessary to address deficiencies pointed out in audit findings.
  • Perform periodic risk assessments and penetration testing.
  • Monitor server and network logs for signs of security breach.
  • Manage and contain information security incidents and events to protect corporate IT assets, intellectual property, regulated data, and the company's reputation.
  • Respond to and take corrective action for all internal audit, third party audit, and examination findings impacting security operations.
  • Oversee Information Security awareness education strategies for Veritex employees and assist and support business units in delivering Information Security education to customers.
  • Oversee development of annual plans and estimations for equipment refreshes of security related hardware and software.
  • Oversee Third Party Information Security assessments and manage the lead analyst responsible for performing the assessment. The analyst is a matrixed managed position with direct line to this position and dotted line to the Director of Third Party Risk Management role.



Job Skills and Qualifications:



  • Must have 5+ years' experience in banking regulatory compliance or similar work experience in compliance, risk management or cyber security.
  • Familiarity with the Cyber Risk Institute's Cyber Risk Profile.
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills and the ability to analyze and make effective, business-centric recommendations to business leaders and senior management.
  • Must have security certification CISM, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Must have a high level of experience in effective leadership and communication to deal effectively with people at all levels of the organization and similarly with stakeholders outside of the organization.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of higher learning and hold a Bachelor's degree with appropriate certifications, or master s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
