MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital, located in Brunswick, ME, is seeking a self-driven, detail-oriented accounting professional to join our team. The successful candidate will serve a key role in the financial reporting for a number of MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital entities as well as an affiliated retirement community. With plenty of free parking, our Parkview location is convenient to the coast, just 30 minutes from Portland, and blocks from bustling downtown Brunswick including Bowdoin College, shopping, and restaurants.

The Staff Accountant role applies principles of accounting and statistical analysis in order to maintain control and accountability in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. This role monitors and maintains control of various general ledger accounts, prepares journal entries and detailed reports and prepares financial statements and analyses reflecting financial status and activities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent Advanced Accounting courses required. Bachelor's Degree in a related field with one year of accounting experience considered.
  2. License/Certifications: CPA Certification preferred.
  3. Experience: One year of experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
