Job Description Summary

Wellbeing Center Facility Assistants are responsible for the daily operations and supervision of all spaces in the Wake Forest Wellbeing Center. While on duty they must maintain constant situational awareness of potential risks while providing an all-inclusive and welcoming environment for all patrons in all areas of the facility. Wellbeing Center Facility Assistants are also responsible for communicating and handling aspects within the facility in the absence of professional staff. This position is expected to maintain employee accountability and assist other program areas (fitness, aquatics, and intramurals) to maintain the safety, appearance and cleanliness of the facility, as well as enforce and maintain all facility policies and procedures.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise and regularly check all areas of the facility on various rounds
  • Primary responder and contact for all special events, internal staff requests, and member inquiries
  • Greet participants and provide excellent customer service to all individuals including faculty, staff and students
  • Knowledge and ability to carry out any Facility and Emergency Action Plan for all members in the facility
  • Ability to uphold, enforce and clearly communicate facility rules and regulations; apply safe practices, hold users accountable
  • Possess knowledge of all Campus Recreation employee expectations, and report and communicate positive and negative observations to appropriate supervisors (examples include shift no call-no shows and tardiness, going above and beyond with a member, covering coworkers' shifts, or inappropriate use of electronic devices)
  • Maintain a safe, clean and presentable atmosphere in all parts of the facility for all members
  • Supervise and assist with all events occurring in the Wellbeing Center
  • Perform all scheduled work wearing Campus Recreation uniform, nametag and adhering to designated dress code
  • Assist in the facilitation of virtual group fitness classes
  • Attend all staff meetings, deep cleaning sessions and required trainings
  • Adhere to regular attendance and timeliness of assigned shifts
  • Positively represent Campus Recreation and Wake Forest University
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Detail oriented
  • Reliable, trustworthy and punctual
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm and passion for a fitness environment and performing fitness related tasks
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as demanded by the nature of the business, as shift and schedules may vary throughout the year (i.e. summer and academic year breaks - spring, fall, winter, etc.)
