Assistant/Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering - WVU Tech (Beckley)

West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is currently inviting applications and nominations for the following employment opportunity:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering within the Leonard C. Nelson School of Engineering seeks to hire a tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering. The department offers two-degree programs: BS degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) and BS degree in Computer Engineering (CpE). The department also offers an area of emphasis in Electrical Energy Systems. The position is 9-month, tenure track, full-time, and benefits-eligible.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Electrical Engineering courses for baccalaureate programs. Specific areas of teaching for the successful candidate will be Electrical Energy/Power Systems (i.e. Power Systems Analysis, Electrical Machines, Renewable Energy, Power Electronics, Protective Relays) and Analog/Digital Electronics (i.e. Semiconductor Components). The successful candidate will also be expected to pursue scholarly/research activities and perform other service associated with a faculty position. Commitment to teaching excellence, student-centered scholarly/research activities, responsiveness to student needs, and good communication skills are essential.

• An earned doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
  
• The successful candidate must have excellent teaching abilities and show potential in scholarly/research activities, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  
• To be considered at the Associate Professor rank, applicants must have a minimum of five years of higher education teaching experience.
