Description

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Data Solutions Architect to join our team! This position is responsible for the support application deployments and integrations across the enterprise, working with various units on data and application capabilities and designs. This position initially requires on-site training at our Data Center located in Daleville, Indiana and then will accommodate a hybrid schedule with on-site work two (2) days per week at the Daleville Data Center.

As part of this role, you will:



  • Provide overall direction, guidance, support of functions working on applications deployments and integrations.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on solutions design.
  • Recommend and drive innovative solutions, which anticipates the future direction of the business, it's drivers and technology strategy.
  • Prototype technology concepts and validate the effectiveness of new technologies to meet business requirements.
  • Make decisions around technical approach for project components and work is performed without management direction. Exercise considerable latitude in determining approaches to solve problems.
  • Partner with the enterprise application services, cyber, and development teams to design robust and durable designs that meet the needs of the business.
  • Lead collaborative sessions and alignment meetings building engagement and evangelizing innovation principals in other units.
  • Collaborate with other principals/leaders on design and projects across the IT spectrum.
  • Lead the creation of or create design documents that ensure consistency across the organization and adherence to architecture guidelines.
  • Guide teams on solution acquisition and selection of data and software development solutions.
  • Support change control best practices and lead the process across all mission areas.
  • Identify opportunities to gain collaborative efficiencies, lessons learned and act upon them, partnering with other teams.


In order to be successful in this position, we require the following:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related technology leadership and/or operational experience.
