THE POSITION

Westmoreland County is seeking a professional full-time Aging Case Aide 1 to help us make a positive impact on the families and community. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Case Aide 1, you will be transporting and escorting consumers to medical, dental, and other appointments, court hearings, shopping trips, and recreational outings, utilizing agency vehicles or taxis as directed by aging care manager staff and/or supervisor. You will be responsible for monitoring in-home status of consumers via phone contacts and home visits, providing basic information regarding community resources, policy, and procedures an assisting with preparation of simple forms. You will have the opportunity to advocate for the consumer population at every opportunity in day-to-day performance of job duties. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Aging Care Manager with achieving care plan goals
  • Purchasing and delivering personal items for consumers
  • Participating in conference with staff and families
  • Providing testimony in court
  • Maintaining records
  • Completing training as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of public contact work, which involved obtaining or providing information; or
  • Any equivalent of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny, Armstrong, Cambria, Fayette, Indiana, Somerset, Washington, or Westmoreland counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
