The purpose of this position is to provide low-income 14 & 15 year-old public-school students with employment opportunities during spring semester. Under general supervision, the incumbent will develop and coordinate the Mayor's Summer Internship Program. Job tasks will include: Developing job placements with non-profit, and government agencies; Recruiting students; Identifying worksite supervisors/mentors; Managing and monitoring program activities; Managing and monitoring program budget and activities; Preparing program reports. Expected weekly work hours: 40 hours/week starting as soon as possible and work until the end of August. Position reports to the Mayor.

Develops, coordinates and monitors Mayor's Summer Internship Program
- Develops job placements with non-profit and government agencies.
- Identifies worksite supervisors
- Recruits 14- and 15-year-old students from public schools for participation in the program
- Provides orientation for students and worksite supervisors
- Manages and monitors program activities
Performs administrative and oversight duties in support of the Mayor's Summer Internship Program Prepares brief job descriptions in conjunction with partner agencies and participants In conjunction with Human Resource staff, advertises the Mayor's Summer Internship Program Ensures student hours are correctly reported to payroll for timely payment Works with the Human Resource staff to obtain necessary pre-employment information including work permits and documents necessary for I-9 Tracks student competencies to include knowledge, skills and abilities Manages program budget. - Analyzes data and prepares programmatic, compliance and budgetary reports for management review.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and one to three years of progressively responsible related experience required. A valid Driver's License or the ability to meet the transportation requirements of the job required. Experience with targeted population preferred. Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job considered.
