REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred with a minimum of 8 - 12 years of related experience. An Associate's degree and 12 - 15 years of practical experience would substitute for the higher degree requirement. A high school diploma and 15 - 20 additional years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent.

Experience/Skills: Develop and implement strategic based plans to resolve technical, environmental, and regulatory issues in support of engineering or operations programs. Efforts will likely involve integration of multiple platforms, systems, and facility systems or technologies requiring in depth analysis, interpretation, and considerable application of both theoretical knowledge and experience as well as interpretation of codes and standards. Considerable amount of creativity is required to address unique and complex problem areas. Information sources may be difficult to identify or information may be difficult to obtain. Solutions and alternatives to problems generally impact sitewide operations or engineering program areas in the face of substantial time constraints and are therefore highly reactive. Directs less qualified engineering and technical support specialists to meet schedules and or resolve technical issues. Develops and administers schedules and performance requirements.
