About the Job

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Voucher Entry - 75%

  • Process external invoices for payment for the Research and Innovation Office (RIO) Cluster
  • Process internal charges for Internal Sales Organizations within the Cluster
  • Process royalty payments for the Office of Tech Commercialization
  • Review and help solve voucher problems
  • Make corrections and close or delete vouchers when necessary
  • Scan and link documents to Perceptive Content
  • Route documents for receipt and/or to the appropriate person when more information is needed
  • Run weekly Voucher Workbench match exception reports

Procurement Duties - 15%

  • Reconcile Pcard purchases for some of our cluster departments
  • Prepare requisitions for our units without requisition preparers
  • Prepare UMarket requisitions for RIO and a few departments (shoppers will submit shopping cart orders for Voucher Specialist to complete)

Other Duties as Assigned - 10%

  • Help with special projects as needed
  • Provide backup Desktop Deposit entry
  • End of the fiscal year clean up

Flexible Work Profile

**Must be able to work in our office on campus at least two days per week.**

The Research and Innovation Office (RIO) endorses a "work with flexibility" approach that offers a welcoming and flexible work environment where everyone is inspired to do their best. Work location options include working fully remote, partially remote, or entirely in the office and are based on the work of the position. Some on-site work may be necessary for certain positions, even those designated as fully remote.

This position has been designated as eligible for flexible work profiles one, two or three.
Flexible work profile one is expected to work primarily on-site.
Flexible work profile two is expected to work on-site more than 50% of the time.
Your office will be in Suite 224 in the McNamara Alumni Center located at 200 SE Oak Street on the Twin Cities, Minneapolis Campus.
Flexible work profile three is expected to work remotely more than 50% of the time. Your dedicated office space will be in your remote work location.

The Research and Innovation Office management retains the right to modify flexible work arrangement agreements on a temporary or permanent basis for any reason at any time.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications (must be mentioned on application/resume)

  • High school diploma/GED and at least four years of general accounts transaction experience. (Training/Education may be substituted for some of the years of experience.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Detail oriented
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with constructing messages that are clear and respectful in explaining and requesting work on an issue
  • Must be able to work in our office on campus at least two days a week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Voucher entry experience
  • UMarket Requisition entry experience
  • Procurement Card Reconciliation experience
  • Experience with U of M Financial System (PeopleSoft EFS) and Perceptive Experience
  • Experience prioritizing work and working with deadlines
  • University of MN or other higher education accounting experience

About the Department

The Research and Innovation Office (RIO) helps facilitate collaborative research designed to solve our most complex problems. We serve as a central resource for conducting, managing, and sponsoring research at the University of Minnesota and developing and bringing to market UMN innovations that improve people's lives. In addition, RIO offices oversee key areas of research compliance and administration and help to cultivate a culture of research integrity at the University.

RIO is composed of 15 administrative support units including Sponsored Projects Administration, Technology Commercialization, and the Human Research Protection Program, and 12 interdisciplinary academic centers and institutes.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $23.32 ($48,505.60 Annual) - $25.19 ($52,395.20 Annual); depending on education/qualifications/experience
