DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Care Management Supervisor 1, you will be supervising a unit of Care Managers and one Case Aide, while overseeing the Personal Emergency Response and Medical Supplies Programs. Work involves assigning work to staff, providing guidance in regards to policies and procedures, and educating staff on appropriate resources available to the elderly. You will be responsible for implementing procedures related to OPTIONS, Cost Sharing, SAMS/OMNIA, Family Caregiver Support, Domiciliary Care, and Care Management programs. This position gives you the opportunity to showcase your leadership skillset as you represent your employees needs and voice their concerns to administrative staff, ensuring good working relationships within the agency. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring, reviewing, and approving paperwork and data entered into the database
  • Conducting regular case conferences
  • Completing supervisory field visits
  • Evaluating the performance of staff and recommending personnel actions
  • Arranging appropriate training programs
  • Completing reports, preparing correspondence, completing data entry, and maintaining records
  • Making presentations to community groups regarding aging services

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in public or private social work and a Bachelor's Degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training including successful completion of 12 semester hours of college level courses in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Luzerne or Wyoming County. If no eligible candidates who live within Luzerne or Wyoming County apply for this position, candidates who reside in Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Monroe, Schuylkill, or Sullivan counties will be considered. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
