Athletic Operations Assistant (Part-Time)

Job Details

The Part-Time Operations Assistant will support the daily operations of the athletic department. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about collegiate athletics and are looking to gain hands-on experience in athletic operations, and event coordination. The exact duties of this position will be determined based on the experiences and strengths of the successful candidate and may include but not be limited to business operations, event and contest management, transportation, and scheduling.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Support business operations using Workday, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that helps manage financials, human resources, and other administrative functions.
  • Assist in contest and event planning and management, including scheduling, venue preparation, and on-site coordination.
  • Assist in the coordination of travel and hospitality, ensuring proper arrangements for transportation, lodging, and meals for teams and staff.
  • Assist in the coordination of contest officials, including scheduling, communication, and ensuring proper accommodations for referees and umpires.

  • Technological Proficiency: Competence with software and tools related to program management, recruitment, and communication.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with student-athletes, colleagues, alumni, and other stakeholders.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a collaborative athletic department and contribute to the institution's broader mission.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, including scheduling, budgeting, and program logistics, efficiently and effectively.
  • Commitment to Student-Athlete Success: Dedication to supporting student-athletes' academic, personal, and professional development.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

AND
Experience:

  • Proficiency with cloud-based software solutions; Workday experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
