WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB: The American Red Cross is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Data & Analytics Team. As a part of a product team, this role involves modernizing and transforming data and reporting capabilities through a new data architecture and technical stack. The position is 100% virtual, with occasional in-person meetings, and prefers candidates work on an East coast schedule to work with off-shore resources. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities): * Collaborate with analytics and business teams to enhance data models for business intelligence tools. * Build scalable solutions aligned with data governance standards for data integrations, storage, reporting, and analytics. * Design, develop, and test data integration solutions, including writing and automating tests. * Manage automated deployments using Git pipelines. * Streamline deployment workflows and troubleshoot pipeline issues. * Perform data analysis to resolve data-related issues and build a data quality framework. * Mentor less experienced team members through code reviews and pair programming. Scope: This is an individual contributor role with limited supervision, requiring subject matter expertise. Note: Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. The American Red Cross does not sponsor employment visas. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications): * 4-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience. * 10 years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence. * Proficiency in database technologies, data warehouse schema design (snowflake and star), and cloud-based databases (AWS/ Redshift preferred). * Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale datasets. Experience with DBT is preferred. * Proficient in Python coding and object-oriented programming. * Experience with ETL/ELT jobs, Agile methodologies, and DevOps tools. * Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++PAY INFORMATION: The annual salary range for this position is $140K - $150K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.
