Job SummaryThis position requires overall accountability for Supply Chain success in the assigned area. This leadership role includes creation and monitoring of operational metrics and development and management of continuous improvement projects in support of strategic visions for FHO, Customer Delivery, Transmission, Telecom and other assigned business partners. This position is responsible for interviewing, hiring and managing union, non-union employees and exempt employees, in a secured environment, in addition to actively to managing up to $150M of inventory. The position safely manages, plans, and maintains efficient operational and financial performance of warehouse operations, grounds, fleet assets, inventory functions, and a regional workforce across multiple business units and jurisdictions. This includes a detailed, technical knowledge of equipment and business and work management unit procedures and systems to facilitate proper materials management and enable on-time construction. Other responsibilities include managing FERC and NERC/CIP policy compliance and physical inventory, picking, loading and unloading in support of daily operations to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. In addition to daily operations, this position provides vital support for generation facility outages, major construction projects, and storm support to expedite the restoration of critical operations. This leader must be available 24/7 to support emergencies and business unit projects. This position is responsible for developing and/or adherence to operational processes to support multiple Duke Energy business partners including Transmission, Distribution, Telecom, Fossil-Hydro Operations and Gas Operations. Relationships must be developed and maintained with Customer Experience and Service (CES) zone Directors, Fossil Hydro (FHO) plant managers and their staffs (engineering, work management, operation center leaders, etc.). This position also ensures adherence to governmental laws and company policies including Affiliate Asset Transfer. ResponsibilitiesManage regional supply chain facility and/or distribution center personnel day-to-day operations to meet individual, sectional, warehouse, and supply chain goals in support of business partner objectives / customer expectations.
Builds and maintains effective working relationships with multiple business partners and suppliers. Maintains close collaboration with business partner leaders to ensure requirements are met.
Ensures excellent support on planning and execution of outage restoration and off-system restoration
Implements inventory optimization - establishes working capital strategies into everyday work activities including business partner support of related initiatives
Ensures compliance with policies, standards and state and federal regulatory requirements (FERC, shelf life, OSHA, SOX, DOT, financial asset accounting, affiliate asset transfer rules, etc.). Understands union contracts and effectively addresses union issues, as required. Develops and manages budget
