Position: Director - MEP Systems Department: Engineering & Sustainability Reporting Relationship: Sr. Director - Engineering & Sustainability Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and stadium events which may include nights, weekends, or holidays Status: Full-Time (Non-exempt) Position Summary The Director of MEP Systems reports to the Sr. Director of Engineering & Sustainability and is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable physical plant operation and maintenance of Bank of America Stadium and Carolina Panthers practice facilities. Specific areas of responsibility include MEP/FP systems, building management system (BAS), and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This position plays a critical role in the development and execution of stadium-wide standard operating procedures as well as compliance with health and safety standards. Primary Responsibilities
- Be responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Football Club, touring artists, partnership clients and all guests.
- Direct and administratively support a high performing and dedicated in-house Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing maintenance team - responsible for all major building systems.
- Provide leadership to departmental teams and activities that operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
- Lead all aspects of the scheduling and deployment of maintenance staff in the operation and maintenance of physical plant: chiller plants, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, refrigeration, and food and beverage equipment.
- Maintain the budget in support of operational needs; coordinate and manage all outside contractors.
- Ensure open communication and mutual support between engineering, operations, project development, and front-of-house guest services.
- Recruit and mentor MEP team members.
- Implement standard operating procedures to ensure the success of the venues and the well-being of mechanical equipment.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as requested.
- Provide oversight and quality control of stadium cleaning vendors. Ensure expectations are met/quality control checklists event prep/during the event and post event. Coordinate and provide oversight of all stadium cleaning contracts and vendors.
- Prepare the Stadium for events by completing quality assurance inspections, reactive incident management system tasks as required, and post-event procedure supervision.
- Self-direct and project team workload to achieve annual business goals and support the overall organization.
- Be on site and an active participant in major stadium events and special events as required.
- Complete site surveys and visual inspections for maintenance repairs and Capital Improvement Projects.
- Assist with project cost planning and budget adherence and be responsible for quarterly variance reports.
- Complete weekly payroll for full-time hourly staff reporting to this position and review payroll invoices from third-party housekeeping partners.
- Facilitate training and career development for direct reports and motivate our team members to achieve "stretch" goals.
- Coordinate effectively with peers in the MEP and Maintenance departments for infrastructure repairs and maintenance.
- Facilitate annual inspections as required by the authority having jurisdiction (Mecklenburg County), City of Charlotte and Charlotte Fire Department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience working in a facilities / building operations and maintenance management role for a sports/entertainment venue or public-facing assembly facility.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR 20-years' equivalent mission-critical facilities management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of facility maintenance, refrigeration systems, and facility environmental systems with successful completion of US-based certifications.
- Able to operate stadium machinery such as forklifts and scissor lifts (training will be provided).
- Recent professional experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area, including technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing and Class B Refrigeration.
- Organized and diligent, resourceful, quick learner with a high attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
- Must be a proven, effective team leader; able to lead a team across all disciplines of facilities management; a self-starter with strong analysis skills and comfortable with financial analysis of budget, forecast, and performance.
- Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call; able to work in variable temperatures, including extreme hot and cold weather, based on the season, and in sometimes confined/narrow spaces.
- Must have a valid driver's license; able to drive a company-owned vehicle; pass pre-employment screens; able to bend, stand, reach, kneel, and lift materials up to 50 pounds.
- work on a ladder or scaffolding, use power tools, and perform other facility maintenance functions; able to walk throughout the facility, sometimes for an extended period and, at times in inclement weather.
- Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience managing an operating budget consisting of in-house labor, outsourced labor, service contracts and consumable supplies cost centers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel software, and Computerized Maintenance Management System software.
- Must be flexible to work evenings and/or weekends and all Carolina Panthers, Charlotte F.C. and major stadium events, including events held on weekends, nights, and holidays when necessary.
- Detail-oriented and forward-thinking
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

- Experience/knowledge of food and beverage cleaning operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- NFL and/or MLS venue experience.
- Experience working with food and beverage operators, concerts, and other stadium events
- Experience with 24/7 Software or similar IMS/CMMS solution.
