Description

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

This role can be based in either Durham, NC or Salt Lake City, UT.

Fixed Asset Accountant - Install Base is responsible for Install Base Fixed Asset Accounting and record maintenance for North America region. This role will provide fixed asset schedules for monthly reporting, install base reporting, tax schedules as well as assist with budget preparation and analysis of the install base as required.

  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of the company's Quality System.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Fixed Asset addition, retirement, disposal, impairment and depreciation information for all install base assets.
  • Ensure that all instrument equipment records are updated and maintained accurately, including location, position status, disposition, cost center, etc.
  • Process and respond to Install Base Change Requests and E-Mails in a timely manner
  • Assist with annual fixed asset physical inventory count.
  • Ensure internal use additions are approved and posted to correct General Ledger Accounts, Cost Centers and/or Project (if applicable) according to accounting guidelines and departmental instructions.
  • Determine capitalization value and creating addition records for all customer returned instruments which ownership transfers to BioFire.
  • Provide Install Base Fixed Asset reports for month, quarter and year-end close.
  • Reconcile Install Base sub ledger to Fixed Asset GL accounts monthly.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as required.
  • Assist with month-end close activities and related journal entries as required.
  • Accounting duties including general office duties, such as copying and filing.
  • Other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.

Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 0+ years of experience required.
    • An Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent with 2+ years bookkeeping, data management or accounting experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment
    • High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years experience bookkeeping, data management or accounting
  • Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, E-Mail and Internet.
  • Data management experience is a plus
  • Experience with Fixed Asset accounting in an ERP system, SAP preferred, but not required.
