Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing research team.
  • Drive workforce alignment and ROI analysis to optimize program offerings.
  • Utilize tools like Lightcast, BLS data, and IPEDS for labor market insights.
  • Provide concise, high-level reports for executive decision-making.
  • Guide research strategy and standardize methodologies.
  • Manage five direct reports, ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance WGU's workforce impact.
  • Champion diversity and equity in workforce research.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Expertise in workforce analytics, labor market research, or higher ed research.
  • Proficiency in data visualization (Tableau, PowerPoint) and analytics tools (SQL, Python, R preferred).
  • Excellent communication and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Project management skills with a focus on execution and impact.
  • Commitment to WGU's mission of workforce-aligned education.

Education & Experience:

  • Master's in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years in workforce research or analytics.
  • 3+ years managing research teams.
  • Higher education, government, or workforce development experience preferred.

Position & Application Details

Full-Time Regular Positions (classified as regular and working 40 standard weekly hours): This is a full-time, regular position (classified for 40 standard weekly hours) that is eligible for bonuses; medical, dental, vision, telehealth and mental healthcare; health savings account and flexible spending account; basic and voluntary life insurance; disability coverage; accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity supplemental coverages; legal and identity theft coverage; retirement savings plan; wellbeing program; discounted WGU tuition; and flexible paid time off for rest and relaxation with no need for accrual, flexible paid sick time with no need for accrual, 11 paid holidays, and other paid leaves, including up to 12 weeks of parental leave.
