SUMMARY: Manages the Accounting Department and acts as an assistant to the controller. Manager will ensure that procedures are being followed and that the Accounting Department is fulfilling all job requirements and meeting job and performance expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for managing the Senior Accounting Clerk and for ensuring all accounting work is performed accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Prepare Financial reports for both internal and external use
  • Analyze financial reports/results and provide impact assessments and/or recommendation
  • Solve accounting and finance related problems
  • Prepare regulatory reports including Call Reports and Y-9's
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statement footnotes
  • Communicate daily with the Controller regarding accounting related issues
  • Establish and revise procedures as needed
  • Help the Senior Accounting Clerk with researching and resolving balancing issues
  • Work closely with regulatory and independent auditors to provide information relating to the financial statements
  • Work on special projects as requested by the Controller. Involve the cost accountant and other department associates as needed
  • Provide coaching and leadership to Accounting Department staff, including conducting regular performance reviews and providing development opportunities
  • Maintain a good relationship with each member of the accounting department to ensure all are motivated to perform their job duties to the best of their ability
  • Complete all mandatory and elective training, including BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) and Anti-Money Laundering procedures. Maintain compliance with all appropriate rules and regulations
  • Regular, predictable attendance is an essential requirement of this position
  • Completes all other duties as assigned


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum of five (5) years Accounting/Finance experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisor experience
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet navigation/research, and Outlook is expected
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
