Position Description

Performs academic advising, educational, professional, or other basic academic advising or training at the individual or group level as appropriate. Supports the director by performing administrative assistant duties in both the academic and operational activities of the regional site. Work is performed under supervision with performance based on individual advising effectiveness and overall program results obtained. This is a part-time position (30 hours weekly) based at the TTU at Waco regional site receiving full benefits.

About the Department and/or College

TTU Online, a division of the Office of the Provost, is dedicated to supporting online and distance students, faculty, and staff. From kindergarten through high school to online bachelor's and graduate programs through lifelong learners aged 50 and over (and everything in-between), we offer flexible, affordable, attainable, and prestigious educational solutions.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Perform academic advising, educational, professional, or other basic academic advising or training at the individual or group level as appropriate.
  • Work closely with advisors and administrators at community college to develop and maintain degree plans and transfer guides.
  • Track potential students, student enrollment, and graduation rates for extended campus.
  • Work with academic advisors on community college campus to ensure understanding of degree pathways.
  • Provide basic assistance to students for admissions, scholarships, and financial aid information.
  • Work with prospective students to develop degree plans.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the director.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for all prospective and current students.
  • Provides oversight for phone calls, emails, scheduling appointments, and events.
  • Provide basic support for faculty and staff office equipment and supervise student workers, their schedules, and job responsibilities.
  • Help maintain database for prospective, incoming, and current students and compile historical data to maintain the alumni database.
  • Provide administrative assistance to other advisors, recruiters, program managers, and director as needed.
  • Attend recruiting events on community college campuses, high school campuses, and community events. Work with admission specialists and recruiters from regional sites to organize events. Help plan transfer fairs during the fall and spring semesters. Attend community functions as requested and help plan, prepare and coordinate graduation events in Spring and Fall and scholarship receptions.
  • Coordinate with Online Student Advocates to support current and new student success for online students receiving advising services locally.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; one year related experience.

Preferred Qualifications


  • 2 - 3 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively.

Pay Statement
