About the Role The QA Software Engineer is responsible for software (API) testing, data quality and test automation. Your expertise will be pivotal in enforcing data quality standards, performing rigorous testing, detecting, and resolving data issues, and supporting the continuous improvement of our API development processes. As a QA Software Engineer, you will also contribute to a variety of areas including:
- Implement automated test cases for both new and existing features and data. Optimize manual tests cases where automation is not possible.
- Create and maintain testing environments, data and test suites.
- Working with developers and product team, create test cases based on minimal requirements.
- Work iteratively with the development team to test and release within designated cycle.
- Analyze test results to ensure correct functionality, create bug reports with reproducible steps and interact with the team for resolution of defects.
- Maintain test artifacts and test evidence in CI/CD environments.
- Responsible for communicating daily progress, issues, risks and quality metrics.
About You You're a good fit for the role of QA Software Engineer if you have:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a QA Engineer, relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experienced with QA automation techniques, frameworks, and strategies.
- At least 2 years performing hands on coding of automated tests using Java or Groovy.
- Hands-on experience utilizing intermediate-advanced SQL.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, Python or other scripting tools.
- Experience with GIT versioning workflows.
- Hands-on experience with querying databases.
- Hands-on experience with data quality validations.
- Hands-on experience automating RESTful API test cases.
- Ability to communicate with business and technical users in understanding new requirements and resolving issues.
- Self-driven, strong communicator with proven ability and discipline to work with a distributed development team in multiple time zones.
- Be able to independently research issues and quickly learn multiple applications with little guidance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently, utilizing agile methodology in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Familiar with JIRA, Github issues, or similar tracking control tools.
- U.S. Citizenship essential to comply with government contract/agency or department of Federal Government requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance.
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Experience with continuous integration systems like Github Actions.
- Experience using the Spock framework.
- Experience loadtesting using tools like Locust or Gatling.
- Experience with Snowflake.
- Ability to setup and maintain UI and API test automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience automating front-end UI tests with tools such as Playwright and Selenium.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $72,100 - $133,900.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
