The MDM & Data Governance Architect will be responsible for the design and implementation of complex Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, as well as playing a key role in establishing data governance framework/processes and supporting the Data Governance Council ongoing. In this role, the MDM & Data Governance Architect will design and oversee the delivery of functional & technical components for master data solutions supporting various domains, including Supplier, Customer, Product, Location, and Employee. The role will be key in leading transformation initiatives related to MDM and Data Governance at Builders First Source. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to develop a set of data standards and implement processes and technical solutions to deliver and maintain a streamlined governance framework.
- Act as a champion for data governance and improved data management through developing and delivering data governance program educational materials, awareness, and mentoring.
- Develop processes and controls across the enterprise data ecosystem to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of data through all upstream and downstream applications.
- Collaborate with domain owners/data stewards to establish, maintain, and periodically review data governance policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures. Recommend changes as necessary.
- Assist with facilitation of data governance council meetings to ensure ongoing alignment and engagement including co-ordination with domain owners/data stewards on meeting agenda.
- Design major aspects of enterprise MDM architecture including data models, match/merge/survivorship rules, user interface usability and experience, workflow, and data integration.
- Collaborate with technical team to develop and maintain high performance and scalable MDM solution architecture by leading solution definition, solution architecture reviews, and tool selection efforts.
- Provide thought leadership and collaborate with Enterprise Architects to develop solutions that are operationally efficient across the enterprise.
- Learn business processes and partner with business process owners/SME's, IT, and data stewardship teams
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in help desk and/or end user support to include experience in supervising/managing a team.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPETENCIES
- Proven track record of managing customer-centric data management and governance solutions using MDM products such as Informatica, Enterworks, SAP MDG etc., across a complex portfolio of stakeholders
- Must have detailed understanding of Master Data Management processes, data governance, including policy and standard management, understanding of data structures, modeling, and complex data relationships.
- Experience in ITIL based frameworks.
- Experience in project management, process mapping and metrics
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong leadership and management skills, including driving results through people
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
- Established strategic and critical analysis skills
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
