POSITION PURPOSE:
The Site Superintendent will be assigned to Department of Defense (DoD) construction project(s) located in various regions. Superintendent is responsible for the overall construction activities at the site, including quality and production. This individual will be responsible for directing, managing, supervising and coordinating the work and activities of the various trade groups on the work site to meet requirements and specifications as described in the statement of work or contracts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the project maintains the required schedule by organizing, planning, monitoring, and inspecting work.
- Good communications skills, verbal and written
- Prepare schedules or assist scheduler for pay estimates and 3-week look ahead.
- Prepare takeoff or assist project engineer with all required materials and ensure that materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time.
- Assist project engineer in defining subcontract scope of work and verifying that the subcontractor is on the project when required and progress in accordance with the schedule.
- Oversee that the activities of various workers do not interfere with one another.
- Inspect the work of each trade and confirm that not only the quality of the work is up to standard, but that the work is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.
- Plan and run weekly progress meeting and assist in the performance of Quality Control preparatory meetings and inspection.
- Computer use and knowledge of MS Word /Excel /PowerPoint /Primavera -P6
- Read and interpret plans and specifications
- Assist with project estimates, bid packages, and schedule preparation and budgets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, or Engineering, with a minimum of three (3) years' experience (within the last ten (10) years) as a Site Superintendent, in construction of the installation of work including petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) facilities, tank rehabilitation, tank cleaning and repairs and emergency inspection
- OR High school Diploma and a minimum of eight (8) years construction experience (within the last 10 years) as a Site Superintendent with training in engineering and construction management
- Completion of 30-HR OSHA Construction Safety course or EM 385-1-1
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, standards, codes, and guidance
Skills and Abilities:
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate work requirements with various staff and subcontractors
- Able to communicate both written and verbally in English
- Computer use and knowledge of MS Word /Excel
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change construction environment
- Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations
- Knowledge of applicable federal, DoD, state, local codes and regulation
Special Requirements:
- Must pass pre-employment background check.
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing.
- Must have a valid driver license.
- Ability to pass U.S. Government employment background check and acquire U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential card.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of the Construction for Quality Management for Contractor course desired
- Familiar with requirements of USACE EM-385-1-1, and experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability and OSHA 30-hour certification with Construction Health & Safety Technician certification desired
- DoD construction experience and experience as a Site Superintendent of projects in remote and/or austere environments is desirable
- API 653 certification and/or API 570 NACE CIP Certification (any level), STI Tank Inspector, AWS Certified Welding Inspector, ASNT Level II or III Certification, Quality Control Management (QCM) Course is desirable
- Working knowledge of RMS is desired

The employee is often required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The position requires working at the construction job site for extended periods of time. The position may require working during weekends and extended hours in order to meet deadlines.
