Advanced Practice Nurse-FT Days-RWJMS Cardiology-New Brunswick-NJ

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our Cardiac Electrophysiology Service. Cardiology experience is mandatory, while Electrophysiology experience is preferred. The APN will be responsible for performing implantable electronic cardiac device interrogations, interpreting and documenting remote interrogations, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to manage patients with pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders. Additional responsibilities include assisting physicians with procedures, conducting physical exams, and ensuring high-quality patient care within the practice.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year APN/NP experience.
• Cardiology experience mandatory. Electrophysiology experience preferred
• Master s degree in Nursing required.
• Registered Professional Nurse with current NJ state license; CDS and DEA.
• CPR certification.
• NP Certification.

Essential Functions:

• The APP is responsible for assisting the Physician in the office, taking Heart and P, administering medications, performing physical exams, and participating in the flow of patients through the practice.
• The APP will assist the physicians with various procedures/surgeries and assist with coordinating the care of the patient.

• Perform implantable electronic cardiac device interrogations and interpretation/documentation of remote interrogations
• Demonstrates an ability to organize and achieve quality performance in new routines.
• Demonstrates effectiveness in coordinating aspects of patient care within a surgical health environment.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively, and demonstrates time management.
• Effectively prioritizes work assignments and demonstrates effective communication skills.
• Implements the policies and procedures of the practice. Performs assessment and reassessment of the patient according to applicable department standards and identified tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Physician.
• The ability to compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care.
• Recognizes areas for improvement in divisional policies or patient care, initiates change, and educates all involved in change.
• Regularly communicates with nursing leadership and staff concerning patient care issues.
• Thoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testing.
• Provides appropriate patient teaching as necessary.
