Position Description
This a responsible professional position with limited administrative and supervisory duties at the unit level. Specific duties include testing, psychological evaluation and diagnostic services as well as counseling assigned patient caseload. This position functions under the supervision of a higher level licensed clinician, but the individual has full professional responsibility for higher actions and advice.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Communication.
  • Serves as a member of the Treatment Team.
  • Assessments and Evaluations are completed in a manner that ensures the patient's privacy.
  • Effectively completes patient related tasks per Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), and Managed Care (MC) policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Provides Individual and Group therapy.
  • Participates in due process hearings for Involuntary Admission, Non Emergent Compelled Medication, and Civil Commitment Hearings.
  • Follows all TDCJ Health Services, American Correctional Association (ACA), TTUHSC, MC policies and procedures and Behavioral Health SOPs and guidelines.
  • Effective use of Supervision.
  • Staff Development and Professional Development.
  • Effective use of Technology.
  • Performs various duties to be determined and/or approved by the supervisor, Sr. Director of Inpatient Services, Direct Supervisor, or designee.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university
