Ophthalmic Technician - Ophthalmic Practice site Alexandria, VA Pay From: $23 Per Hour MUST: Experienced Ophthalmic Technician with 2 +years of experience Experience with manual refractions Must have experience visual fields Experience with fundus photo testing Experience with pupal exams Experience with IOL measurements Strong EMR documentation and experience with AdvancedMD is a plus Experience with muscle testing Experience with tonometry Experience with topography DUTIES: The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Rooming patients Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients Measure for eyeglass prescription Operate various ophthalmology diagnostic equipment Apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes Counsel patients by providing information regarding treatment, use of drops and drugs Ensure confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records Provide quality patient care, excellent communication and customer service Help generate leads towards laser vision correction surgery Create a comfortable and welcoming environment for our patients Perform routine instrument maintenance Obtain patient medical history Visual acuity measurement Refractometry (measurements for the glasses prescription) Tonometry (measure eye pressure) Measure pupil size and reactivity Test and measure eye muscle function Visual field testing Measure corneal thickness, curvature, and topography Retinal nerve fiber layer measurement Retinal thickness and topography Fluorescein angiography A and B-scan ultrasonography Assist with contact lens fitting, and patient instruction Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures Surgical assisting Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
