Department:AEAB | Agricultural Economics and AgribusinessDepartment's Website: The primary goal of this position is to promote the Center's mission to industry, academia, and government. The Center is strategically placed to provide global leadership in risk management, applying an industry-informed scholarship model that includes research, teaching, and outreach. The position will require: *Collaborate with Center faculty on research, teaching, and outreach to implement the industry-informed learning model. This would require familiarizing faculty with research expertise and programs, and making them aware of important industry and government risk-related issues/topics/research ideas that need to be addressed. Potential research collaborations are encouraged. *Help to secure private funding from industry to fund the Center's mission *Organize and coordinate Center workshops for extension events in collaboration with the Southern Risk Management Education Center and Department extension faculty *Organize and coordinate academic/industry conferences to showcase Center research *Organize and coordinate an annual alumni event. This would include creating and maintaining an alumni database of former students now working in agribusiness and/or a risk field *Organize and coordinate Advisory Board meetings. *Organize and coordinate visiting scholar academic seminars and industry guest speaker visits. *Attend industry and academic conferences to promote the Center and to generate research ideas *Make industry connections to provide students with internship opportunities. Some internships could be designed to include research collaborations between industry and the Center. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in agricultural economics/agribusiness, business, economics, or related field from a nationally recognized and accredited institution plus three (3) years of relevant professional experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and collegiality.
